AYL QY8 Bluetooth Headphones Review

Continuing our Bluetooth earbuds saga, today I’ll talk about a really cheap earbud suited for all environments, from offices to the gym, the AYL QY8. At the time of this writing, the QY8 is costing around 25 dollars, really inexpensive piece, and I consider it a direct competition for the Soundpeats and Photive BTE70. Let’s take a closer look:

AYL QY8 Review

Despite being an inexpensive earbud, the AYL QY8 carries a nice sound signature not normally seen in similar models. Like I said before, the APTX technology is now becoming a must in every Bluetooth earbud out there. However, the QY8 have an uncommon differential: The CVC 6.0 Digital noise reduction technology that intelligently filters ambient noise. Now, that’s a differential not because it is new, but because it is not seen in cheap models like this one. The sound is overall clear and precise across the spectrum, the bass delivers a good punch and the soundstage is wide enough. You will definitely notice a big difference if you are still using your apple earbuds.

AYL QY8 Review
The AYL QY8 has a premium looking to it, and despite it being made of plastic, it is well suited for the gym and “stress activities” as well. Its design is pretty straightforward, sleek and simple with soft, flexible wires and small ear hooks.

I’ve already said I don’t like these ear hooks and in some models, it is a nightmare (looking at you powerbeats!), however, on the AYL QY8 it is quite comfortable and you will barely notice it is there actually helping to improve stability.

Comfort and Fit

You might think initially that the housing is huge and there is no way that this is comfortable, but it actually is comfortable enough to run and jump and still forget these are on. The extremely light weight also contributes to this comfort with a plastic construction that might be a problem for the durability if you are not careful, but if you do not sit or step on it, you’ll be fine.

The fit is ok with the normal ear tips but you should consider at least testing the different ear tips and ear hooks provided (3 pairs) to see what fits best for you.

Styles,  Accessories, and Extras

Unfortunately, there are no other colors available for the AYL QY8 at the moment, which is bad, some other style options would be awesome, but let’s move on…

There are no extras or accessories with the AYL QY8, only the standard stuff: 3 pairs of ear tips, 3 pairs of ear hooks, and the charging cable. Battery time is slightly above average offering 7h of music playback. There is also a microphone and inline controls that work with Android and iOS devices.

Pros and Cons

  • Great sound for the price
  • Stable construction
  • Comfortable and sleek

  • Not really the resistant type.

My Rating: 8.6 out of 10

Do not expect to find here an extremely durable earbud that will serve you forever or an outstanding HI-FI sound, because you won’t find this in a 25 dollar earbud. For those looking for a cheap replacement for your dead earbud, for those looking for a cheap alternative to apple earbuds and for those looking for a cheap way to listen to music at the gym the AYL QY8 is a great choice, you can buy it without fear.
