Cowin E-7 Active Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphones Review

Today I will bring you a review of a model that you may or may not have heard about, but people are talking many good things about this model, so we decided to see for ourselves what the fuss is all about. The model I am talking about is the Cowin E-7 a cheap bluetooth headphone wit Active noise canceling feature. Let’s take a closer look and decide if this is the right one for you.

Sound

If you have a 20$ headphone from china you will instantly notice the big difference. The quality of the bass and vocals will feel awesome to you, but let me tell you something, it can be even better! However, at this price range it is good, making it a very nice deal, but as it is a common occurrence, the quality drops just a little bit when you have ANC on, ( Don’t know what ANC is? click here to see a Wikipedia article).

The best thing about the Cowin E-7 for me is that the low end is surprisingly well defined with almost zero distortion, making the bass rock. You will only find more details on the Bose QC 35 or  maybe the BOHM Bb76.

Design and durability

Giving it a closer look, you will see that the driver housing is made entirely of plastic but that doesn’t mean that it will not be durable. If we have a good quality plastic, it will be as durable as the metal ones. If I have to guess a time, I would say, It would easily last for a year or 2 if it is well cared.

Comfort and Fit

Fit and comfort on an earbud relies upon a good design, but mostly on the number of ear tips offered, since each ear is different, but when it comes to headphones, it is very different, and the comfort is entirely dependent on the ear pads material and the headband design. Fortunately for us, the Cowin E-7 cushioned ear pads offers great comfort for hours without any kind of fatigue.

Accessories and Extras

The Cowin E-7 comes in two versions: with and without ANC which is usually 10 bucks cheaper. Unfortunately, the Cowin will not come with a hard case but instead offers you to buy one from their store. This is a bad move for me, but if the case is of high quality, it might worth it for some of you. And it also comes with a mic, volume, and controls not usually seen in models of this price.

You will also receive in the package:  A Micro USB cable, a 3,5mm cable, and a pouch.

The battery time is 30h of music playback with the ANC off, they did not share the numbers of when the ANC is on, but I assume that it decreases a LOT.

Specs:

Impedance: 32Ω
S/N: ≥75dB
Frequency: 20Hz-20kHz
Power supply: Lithium battery or Micro USB cable Audio
Function spec: Bluetooth, Microphone, AUX, Active Noise Cancelling

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Great bass
  • Good mids and highs
  • Wide soundstage
  • Premium materials
  • Active Noise Cancelling
  • Cheap

Cons:

  • Case not included
  • ANC quality inferior to the BOHM B76

Conclusion

The Cowin E-7 is a great model if you are looking for a cheap wireless and noise cancelling solution. The bass is really strong and will please all the bass heads out there. The mids are detailed enough and are good if you are also searching for a flat sound signature. When it comes to the ANC quality it cannot compete with higher models like the BOHM B76 or the Bose Quiet Comfort 35, however, if you are a casual listener just looking to hear your songs in peace, the Cowin E-7 will be more than a fit to your needs, go ahead and buy it with no fears.

See you next time,
